UCCS Launches New Athletics Website
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - GoMountainLions.com, the official online home for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, received a fresh look when the new site launched this afternoon. The new site is the result of nearly six months of preparation of design and testing.
"I'm excited that we're at the point to launch the new online home for the Mountain Lions," said Jared Verner, Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information. "We owe a lot of man hours to the Web Services office for developing the framework, the original design and for assisting us as we began the process of uploading content nearly a month ago. There is still a lot of work left to do, but we're excited to be ready for launch.
"We're excited for the potential to convey our stories and messages in a more visually appealing way," Verner said. "The new site will allow us greater control on how we present the information and how we promote upcoming events of our successes of the past season."
The site uses the Ingeniux Content Management System, which moves athletics inside the framework as the rest of UCCS. It's the only site in the RMAC not built and hosted by a third-party athletic website provider, which will provide UCCS with additional cost savings and the ability to change features on the site as needed.
