CLEVELAND - The national finishes at the cross country championships kept the University of Colorado Colorado Springs among the top 20 in the latest update in the Learfield Sports Directors Cup standings in Division II. The Mountain Lions are at No. 17 and are one of four RMAC schools in the top 20.

The new standings reflect new scoring for men's and women's soccer, which concluded last weekend in Evans, Ga. The final scoring will include up to seven men's and seven women's sports through the fall, winter and spring seasons.

The Mountain Lions' 133.5 points from a No. 10 finish in women's cross country and a No. 11 finish in men's cross country at the national meet on Nov. 17 in Joplin, Mo. The point total is more than the total for the entire year for the Mountain Lion athletic department in each of the previous five years.

The final fall standings will be released Dec. 19 after the conclusion of the football and volleyball national championships. The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup measures the top overall athletic department in each division in up to seven men's and seven women's sports at the national championships.
