September 14, 2006Kirkham's Korner: Travel in the RMAC - getting there and backOne of the amazing things about the athletes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference is their ability to compete on a high level while making some of the toughest travel one could imagine.
September 20, 2006Kirkham's Korner: Eating and sleeping on the roadEating and sleeping on the road in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference is not based on a one-to-five star system. The institutions struggle to provide transportation to and from each venue, so the rooms are not plush and the restaurants are not usually the best in town.
September 28, 2006Kirkham's Korner: winning on the roadIs it about winning on the road or survival? As we now know, travel in the RMAC is a test. Even though the athletes are young and vigorous, they still get worn down with the effects of being on the road.
October 4, 2006Kirkham's Korner: Travel in the RMAC - toughest places to playWhat are the toughest places to play in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference? Everywhere! I'm not just saying that so our teams don't get singled out when they travel this year. The crowds are already rowdy and extremely supportive of their teams. This of course could be a major contributing factor to a streaker needing to be seen.

April 16, 2007Kirkham's Korner: Developing athletesI promised in my last Korner to talk about an ideal situation for young people to learn and enjoy the athletic experience. The word ideal is dangerous to use when discussing something as diverse as athletics, but there are certain truths that apply to all developmental experiences in regards to athletics.
