Mountain Lions Golf Tourament announced
The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Athletic Department will host its annual Mountain Lions Golf Tournament on Monday, May 9 at the Colorado Springs Country Club, athletic director Stephen Kirkham announced Wednesday.
All proceeds from the tournament will be used exclusively to aid UCCS student-athletes through scholarship assistance, equipment and safer travel.
The Mountain Lions compete in 16 sports at the NCAA Division II level and are members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Since it added intercollegiate athletics in 1988, UCCS has produced five teams ranked in the Top 10 nationally and eight in the Top 20. UCCS athletics has produced 18 All-Americans, 177 All-RMAC performers and well over 200 academic All-RMAC honorees.
Besides foursomes and individual players, the UCCS athletic department is actively searching for signature sponsors. Some hole and contest sponsorships are also available. Contact Ed Hughes at 719-262-3601 for more information.
