Spring storm cancels events
The spring storm that settled over the Rocky Mountain region this weekend caused havoc with the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs athletic schedules.
Having already had to reschedule its past two matches because of inclement weather, the men's tennis team was forced to cancel its Saturday match against Mesa State outright. The women's team, also scheduled to face Mesa State Saturday, also had its match cancelled.
Softball was forced to follow suit. The team reached Castle Rock before being informed that Friday's doubleheader at Regis was cancelled because of heavy rain in Denver. Overnight that rain turned to snow, preventing Saturday's games from being played as well. With the forecasts calling for increasing accumulations and both teams' schedules full, no make-up games will be attempted.
The men's and women's track teams competed at the Colorado College Invitational despite the snow.
