Womens tennis falls to Mesa
The UCCS women's tennis team had its two-match win streak snapped Saturday in Grand Junction. Mesa State swept the doubles matches and went on to beat the Mountain Lions 7-2.
UCCS got its lone wins of the day at No. 5 singles, where Laura Backlin won and at No. 6 where Lana Staggenborg was victorious.
The Mountain Lions came into the match winners of two straight. UCCS beat Colorado Christian and Metro State by identical 8-1 scores.
The Mountain Lions doubles play was impressive in their two victories. UCCS swept the doubles matches against the Cougars and Roadrunners.
Lauren Daniels and Backiln each went 4-0 overall during the two matches and several other Mountain Lions posted perfect 3-0 records.
UCCS has just three matches remaining before the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament.
