UCCS took a tough loss to Metro State with a score of 5-4.

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs men's tennis team took a tough loss to the Metro State Roadrunners on Wednesday with a score of 5-4 at the Broadmoor.

"It was a real close match that came down to one tie breaker," said Sean Voorhies. "And we'll look forward to some revenge in conference (playoffs) next week (April 21-23)."

In singles play at No. 2 Eric Rivera took a tough loss to Metro State's Riley Meyer with a score of 3-6, 4-6, 7-6(3). However, at No. 1 Voorhies, with a score of 6-3, 6-4, overwhelmed Andre Nilsson. Also at No. 5 Marc Knutila defeated Sean Carlton 6-3, 6-2.

In doubles play at No. 2 Jason Schultz and Eric Rivera overpowered the Roadrunner's Drew Machholz and Mark Milner with a score of 8-5. At No.1 Sean Voorhies and Josh Johnson had a score of 8-6 to beat Andre Nilsson and Riley Meyer. Except at No.3 Marc Knutila and Ken Huston were defeated by Sean Carlton and William Meyer with a score of 8-6.

The Mountain Lions, who are ranked No. 10 in te North Central Region, fell to 8-8 on the season and are now 1-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
