After winning two of three doubles matches, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs faltered in singles play to drop a 6-3 decision to the Colorado College Tigers Thursday at the Garden of the Gods Club.

Colorado College improved to 7-1 overall and 5-0 against Division II schools. The Mountain Lions slipped to 8-6.

Eric Rivera and Jason Schultz continued to shine at No. 1 doubles. The duo has built outstanding chemistry on the court, improving to 10-3 on the season with Thursday's win. Marc Knutila and Ken Huston also earned a point for UCCS with an 8-6 decision over CC's Tyler Fox and Daniel Solomon.

Sean Voorhies improved to 9-5 in singles play with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Naren Clark at No. 1. Rivera and Schultz went to three sets at Nos. 2 and 3 respectively, but both were defeated in the deciding third set.

It was the Tiger's first victory over the Mountain Lions since April 12, 2004.
