Schultz & Rivera advance to quarterfinals

Jason Schultz and Eric Rivera advanced to the quarterfinals of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association North Central Region Doubles Championship Friday at Topeka, Kan.

Schultz and Rivera will face Pablo Acabedo and Chris Smith or Northwest Missouri State in the tournament quarterfinals on Saturday.

The ITA North Central Region Championships is a single-elimination tournament for individuals and 32 doubles pairs. There are no team scores.

The Mountain Lions' other two doubles teams, Sean Voorhies & Jason Johnson and Jason Bisanti & Marc Knutila each won in the first round before being eliminated in the second round.

Voorhies and Schultz each won their singles match before being eliminated in the second round.
