He competed in five events, broke two individual school records and was a member of tonight’s school record 4x400 meter relay team. Elliott’s night went as follows; fourth in the 60 meter hurdles with a school record 8.67 time, winner in the 300 meter with a school record time of 35.61, 12th in the high jump with a mark of 1.74 meters and 12th in the long jump with a mark of 6.17 meters. This guy is going to be something really special for UCCS track and field.

It caused delays, issues and generally made circumstances miserable. It was a much different environment then the wind storm in Greeley three weeks ago. At least in Greeley some good competitive performances were possible. Today, in Fort Collins, was just all about competing well against the field.
April 17, 2010Gomez Takes Flight Amongst Many UCCS Season and Personal BestsSteven Gomez cleared 2.15 meter in the men's high jump at the Colorado State-Pueblo Invitational. The temperature was far from ideal, at about 50 degrees , still Gomez took advantage during the low wind period of Saturday afternoon. He nearly cleared 2.19 meters, but he will have a couple more cracks at that height as Gomez has automatically advanced to NCAA D-II Outdoor Track and Field National Championship in Charlotte N.C., May 27-29.
April 10, 2010Boulder-Sized Tune UpIt was a tune up Saturday in Boulder for the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs track team. Over the next week, UCCS athletes will compete across three different competitions. The competition level will be much higher next week so Saturday many athletes stepped into events they have never done or rarely compete in.
April 3, 2010Lauren Graham and the UCCS relays star in GreeleyFor the most part the wind ruled the day in Greeley, but considering that last year on this weekend we had a big snow storm that cancelled the meet, having to deal with the wind was ok. "We competed wellâ", said Coach Mark Misch "there was much more good then bad today." We only saw two personal best out the Mountain Lion track team on this Saturday. The way the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs competed will pay off later when there is better weather.

Both the men's distance medley and 4x400 relay won their respective heats. Those relays were apart of a very productive event."I was very pleased with how the team competed", said coach Mark Misch "it was a great meet and we had solid races."
