UCCS Finish Eighth at Regional Championships
CANYON, Texas - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country team concluded its season with an eighth place finish at the NCAA Division II South Central Region Championships this morning in Canyon, Texas.
Nick Baca led a group of the first three Mountain Lions with a time of 32 minutes, 11 seconds on the 10-kilometer course to finish No. 41 overall. Matt Winfrey finished one spot behind Baca with 32:18, and Luke Dakin finished at No. 45 with 32:15 as the three runners finished within a 14-second span.
RMAC Summit Award winner Ryder Tam finished in 32:39 and Corey Brown was the fifth scoring runner for the Mountain Lions in 32:46.
The team finish will mark the end of the 2013 UCCS men's cross country season. The NCAA took the first six teams at today's regional meet, which included five RMAC teams.
