Mountain Lions Start Strong at Rust Buster
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country team came out strong today at the sixth annual Rust Buster meet at Monument Valley Park in downtown Colorado Springs.
Bryce Gregoire led the Mountain Lions and finished fourth overall with a time of 20 minutes, 19 seconds, followed by Alex Nelson and Mitch Klomp on the six-kilometer course. Nelson competed with a time of 20:20, while Klomp finished in 20:21. UCCS had five runners finish in the top 10 overall.
"The team did a good job overall," said Head Men's Cross Country Coach Mark Misch. "It was a small field and we ran very controlled. On the guys side, we basically ran in groups finishing seconds apart. We got out of this what we wanted to."
Luke Dakin will be returning to compete at the Colorado College Invitational in two weeks. Dakin was a member of the team at the national championships season.
Up Next: The Men's team will be competing September 21 at the Colorado College Invitational at Monument Valley Park. The race begins at 9 a.m.
