Dakin, English Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Award
NEW ORLEANS - University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country student-athletes Luke Dakin and Mike English earned a spot on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic teams announced this morning.
English is a three-time USTFCCCA academic selection and a two-time RMAC All-Academic Second Team member. He was an all-conference runner and was on the UCCS team that finished No. 11 at the NCAA Division II National Cross Country Championships.
Dakin was an RMAC All-Academic Second Team select with English earlier this season and was a scoring member of the Mountain Lion teams at the national and regional championships.
The two Mountain Lions earned the honor after they earned a grade point average of 3.25 last fall and finished in the top half of the national championships or top 30 percent of the regional championships. A total of 209 men from 99 Division II teams earned a spot on the All-Academic Teams.
