NEW ORLEANS-After a fourth place finish at the RMAC Championships, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country team moved up one spot in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Polls released early Wednesday morning.  The Mountain Lions are now ranked ninth, only five votes shy of Minnesota Duluth at eighth.

UCCS was ranked fourth in the regional polls released Tuesday morning.  The top four teams in the regional polls are from the RMAC.

The Mountain Lions were five points from the third place team, Metro State, at the RMAC Championships in Silver City, N.M. It was the fourth time in program history that UCCS finished with multiple All-RMAC runners in the same meet and had multiple All-RMAC runners in back-to-back championships after the four all-conference performances in 2012.

Veronica Sandoval claimed the second All-RMAC team while Angie Martell was named third team All-RMAC finishing No. 12 and No. 19, respectively.

The Mountain Lions will be competing next at the 2013 NCAA Division II South Central Region Championships in Canyon, Texas, on Nov. 9.
