UCCS Steady at No. 10 in Week 5 National Polls

NEW ORLEANS-The top 10 teams stayed the same this morning in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Polls released early Wednesday morning. The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country team remained at No. 10 with 128 votes.

The RMAC had four teams ranked among the top 10 including Adams State, Western State, and Metro State. The Mountain Lions ranked fourth this week in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Central regional polls released Tuesday morning.

UCCS competed Oct. 5, at the Metro State Invitational at Washington Park in Denver. Angie Martell led the team to a second place finish out of six teams. Martell had the sixth fastest time in the history of the event while teammate Veronica Sandoval finished with the seventh fastest time.

The Mountain Lions will be competing Oct. 26, at the RMAC Championships in Silver City, N.M.
