Women's Cross Country Ranked Fourth in USATFCCCA Regional Polls

NEW ORLEANS-The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country team remain ranked at fourth this week in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Central Regional polls released early Tuesday morning.  The top 10 teams remained unchanged from last week.

The No. 10 national ranked Mountain Lions competed at the Metro State Invitational Oct. 5 at Washington State Park in Denver, and finished second overall.  Metro State finished ahead of UCCS by five points.  Angie Martell finished third overall with a time of 23 minutes, 30 seconds on the six-kilometer course.  Veronica Sandoval placed one spot behind Martell and finished in 23:50 for fourth place. 

The Mountain Lions will be competing Oct. 26, in Silver City, N.M. at the RMAC Championships.
