Mountain Lions Remain at No. 10 in National Polls

NEW ORLEANS- The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country team ranked No. 10 this week in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross country Coaches Association national polls released early Wednesday morning.  Other than Edinboro ranked at ninth and Metro State moving one spot to eighth, the top 10 remained the same.  Four of the top 10 teams are from RMAC. 

The Mountain Lions competed at the Metro State Invitational Oct. 5 and finished second overall.  UCCS was within five points of Metro State who finished first on the six-kilometer course.  Angie Martell finished third with the sixth-fastest time in the meet's history and Veronica Sandoval finished fourth with the seventh-fastest time in the meet's history.   

Up next: UCCS will be competing at the RMAC Championships, Oct. 26, in Silver City, N.M.
