Mountain Lions Remain Fourth in Regional Polls

NEW ORLEANS-The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country team ranked fourth this week in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Central Regional Polls released early Tuesday morning.  Four out of the top five teams are from the RMAC.

Angie Martell led the Mountain Lions to a second place finish at the Metro State Invitational at Washington Park in Denver this past weekend.  Martell ran the sixth-fastest time in the Invitational's history with 23 minutes 30 seconds for a third-place finish.  Veronica Sandoval placed fourth in 23:50 to claim the seventh fastest time in the meet's history.  Also scoring for UCCS were Sam Bauer, Alyssa Wendt, and Lina Arista.

UCCS will be competing next at the RMAC Championships on Oct. 26 in Silver City, N.M.
