Women's Cross Country Ranked No. 10 in National Polls

NEW ORLEANS-The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country team ranked No. 10 this week in the U.S. track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national polls released early Wednesday morning. Besides minor changes, the top 10 teams remained the same with four of the top 10 teams from RMAC. 

UCCS finished second among Division II teams and fourth among all collegiate teams at the Erik Anderson Invitational, Sept. 21, in Spokane, Wash.  Angie Martell dominated the six-kilometer course in 22 minutes, 19.37 seconds and finished third among Division II runners. Veronica Sandoval finished fifth among Division II runners and No. 13 overall.  Lina Arista, Alyssa Andrews, and Alyssa Wendt also finished strong at the Invitational.

The Mountain Lions will be competing Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Metro State Invitational in Denver, Colo.
