Women Remain Fourth in Regional Polls

NEW ORLEANS - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country team is ranked fourth in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Central Regional Polls released Tuesday morning. The top four teams remained unchanged this week with Adams State, Western State, and Metro State ahead of the Mountain Lions.

Angie Martell finished third among Division II runners at the Erik Anderson Invitational in Spokane, Wash., and No. 10 among all collegiate women to lead the UCCS women's cross country team.  Veronica Sandoval finished fifth for Division II while Lina Arista, Alyssa Andrews, and Alyssa Wendt finished No. 13 though No. 15 in the Division II results. 

UCCS will be competing Oct. 5, at the Metro State Invitational, in Denver, Colo.
