NEW ORLEANS-The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country team just missed being ranked in the top 25 this week in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national polls released early Wednesday morning. The previously ranked No. 23 UCCS men's team received 14 votes this week, one vote out of a tie for No. 25.

The Mountain Lions remained seventh in the latest USTFCCCA South Central Region polls released Tuesday. UCCS last competed in the Colorado College Invitational Sept. 21, at Monument Valley Park in downtown Colorado Springs.

UCCS will be competing Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Metro State Invitational in Denver, Colo.  The eight-kilometer race will be at Washington Park and will be the final race before the championship season.
