NEW ORLEANS - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country team remained fifth in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Central Regional Polls released early Tuesday morning. The entire top 10 poll remained the same from last week.

The Mountain Lions competed with a limited squad last week at the Metro State Invitational in the final non-championship race of the season. Sam Bauer placed No. 11 overall, eighth among collegiate runners and fourth among Division II runners on the six-kilometer course at Denver's Washington Park. She placed ahead of the top runners from Colorado Mesa, Fort Lewis and Air Force.

UCCS will take the upcoming weekend off before hosting the 2012 RMAC Championships on Oct. 20 in Monument Valley Park. The Mountain Lions will host the event for the first time in program history and will also host the top runners in Colorado when the USATF Colorado Championships take place  earlier in the morning.
