Bauer Leads #28 Mountain Lions at Metro State Invitational

DENVER, Colo. - Sam Bauer finished in 24 minutes and 18 seconds and finished No. 11 overall and eighth among collegiate runners to lead No. 28 University of Colorado Colorado Springs at this morning's Metro State Invitational in Denver. Bauer was one of three Mountain Lion women to compete in the final regular season meet of the year for UCCS.

Bauer finished fourth among Division II runners and finished ahead of the top runners from Colorado Mesa, Fort Lewis and the Air Force. Alexa Urban finished No. 28 overall in 25:45 and also placed ahead of the top finisher for Fort Lewis. Sara Kettelkamp rounded out the Mountain Lions in No. 37 overall with 26:24.

Up Next: UCCS will begin the championship portion of the schedule in two weeks with the RMAC Championships on Oct. 20. The Mountain Lions will host the championships for the first time in program history at Monument Valley Park along with the Colorado USATF Championships.
