COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Members of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country team will hold a charity "Kenyan Dinner Night" this Friday night at The Grace Place Church at 2403 Templeton Gap Road. The $10 dinner features traditional Kenyan cuisine and will benefit the Cheptigit Primary School in Kaptagat, Kenya.

The dinner will be prepared by members of the Mountain Lion men's cross country team that spent the winter break in Kenya. The team visited the school, which educates more than 500 students with only 11 teachers. Funds raised from Friday's dinner will be donated to the school to hire additional teachers. Each ticket will be enough to provide a week's worth of wages for a new teacher at the school.

The trip to the Cheptigit Primary School was part of a larger trip by Head Coach Mark Misch and student-athletes Luke Dakin, Rob Scrivner and David Marino to Kenya during the winter break. The Mountain Lions stayed at the Grace of God Children's Center in Kapsabet, Kenya, and interacted with world-class athletes, visit the surrounding area and spent time with the local families.
