Misch Conducting FREE Cross Country Camp
COLORADO SPRINGS - Mark Misch is passionate about running. The University of Colorado Colorado Springs cross country/track coach is so passionate about his sport that he will be conducting a free cross country camp from Aug. 1-5 at Monument Valley Park for kids ages 12-18.
That's right - free.
"I wanted to do something that wasn't affiliated with any one school, etc. and get everyone involved," said Misch. "We got a lot of sponsors and the feedback has been awesome. I'm just happy that kids can participate in something that doesn't cost them anything."
The Colorado Springs City-Wide Cross Country Camp will begin at 5:30 p.m. on each night from Aug. 1-5. Campers are to meet at the concrete patio near the rest rooms at the start/finish area of Monument Valley Park's renowned cross country circuit. It's easy to find by entering the park at Fontanero and Culebra streets and following the trail down the hill.
The daily schedule includes runs of various distances according to ability, fitness and age as well as instructional and motivational speakers. Fluids, post-run snacks and prizes provided.
