December 23, 2010English, Seven Others Named to RMAC All-Academic TeamsMike English of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs was named 2010 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country second-team All-Academic, the conference announced Wednesday. Seven other Mountain Lions were named to the RMAC academic honor roll.
November 20, 2010No Qualifier, This Year, for the Cross-Country National ChampionshipThe Regional is the race that matters the most of all races on the cross-country schedule and after the regional the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs will not have any representatives at the NCAA D-II National Championship. Mike English placed 29 in the men’s race and was 22 seconds short of gaining an individual qualifying spot to the National Championship.
October 16, 2010UCCS Chases Metro StateOut at Washington Park in Denver the skies were clear, blue and almost cloudless. The air had some crispness in it. The grass was long and wet with some remnants of the overnight frost in some shaded areas. It is all the making of classic cross-country conditions. It was also the makings of a great day for UCCS cross-country.
September 11, 2010The Rust was BustedIt was beautiful Saturday at Monument Valley Park for the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs to host the Rust Buster Open. The Rust Buster was a low-key early season preparation race with no team score kept. The full race plan for UCCS will come into action three weeks from now in Boulder.
September 7, 2010Rust Buster PreviewA field of eight teams is set for the Third Annual Rust Buster Invitational on Saturday, September 11th. Joining the UCCS Mountain Lions will be runners from the Air Force Academy, University of Denver, Colorado College, Metro State, Colorado State-Pueblo, Johnson & Wales and Crown College out of Minnesota. All the teams will have entries in both the men’s and women’s races except for Colorado State-Pueblo, who will only enter a women’s team.
August 30, 2010UCCS Ranked 8th in the Cross-Country Pre-Season PollsBoth the Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country teams at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs were selected 8th in the preseason poll for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The men’s team received 70 points in the pre-season conference rankings and the women’s team received 86 points. Both Mountain Lions teams were also selected 10th in the pre-season North-Central region rankings.
