Pinter, Frier, Del Pardo named to USTFCCCA scholar-athlete list.
Dan Pinter of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs was named a USTFCCCA Male Scholar Athlete for the 2008-2009 school year. What sets Pinter, a senior, apart from any other athlete on this coveted list is that he wasnâ€TMt just named to it for one major but for each of his two majors, Accounting and Business.
Alicia Del Pardo and teammate Kaitlin Frier were named as USTFCCCA Female Scholar Athletes. Del Pardo, a sophomore from Sierra High School in Colorado Springs, is majoring in Business. While fellow sophomore Frier, a Lewis-Palmer grad, is majoring in English.
To qualify for All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have completed at least 12 semester/quarter hours through the semester of competition at the institution to be elibigle. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average and have placed in the top 30% of the total number of athletes eligible to compete at the respective regional championships, or in the top 50% of the field at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships.
For the third straight year, a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) cross country athlete has been named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Cross Country Male Scholar Athlete of the Year, Adams Stateâ€TMs Aaron Braun. Also, Seattle Pacificâ€TMs Jessica Pixler was honored as the Female Scholar Athlete of the Year for the second time in a row.
A total of 138 Division II male and 243 Division II female student-athletes received 2008 USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic honors, representing 68 and 101 Division Division II institutions, respectively.
