Payne wins Running of the Green

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs runner Shannon Payne won the women's side of the 20th annual Running of the Green on Sunday.

The Lucky 7k run and walk had over 5,000 participants. The course was 4.35 miles long and is run in the streets LoDo.

Payton Batliner, of Boulder, won the men's event.

After the Running of the Green, a St. Patty's celebration kicked-off complete with bag pipes and Irish step dancers. People of all ages were in attendance for the party. Proceeds of the event went to the Volunteers of America.
