The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs women's cross country team was named an all-academic team, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Thursday.

The Mountain Lions were one of 91 Division II women's cross country programs to have at least a 3.0 team GPA during the 2006 season. For schools to qualify as an All-Academic Team, the student-athletes on their NCAA eligibility list must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 of higher.

UCCS' cumulative GPA was 3.558.

Adams State was designated the Division II all-academic women's cross country team of the year, which is awarded to the highest-finishing school at the NCAA Championships that meets all-academic team qualifications.

The University of Tampa had the highest team GPA of the all-academic teams with a cumulative 3.774.
