Women's Cross Country Retains No. 8 Ranking

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs women's cross country team retained its No. 8 national ranking according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association poll which was released Tuesday.

The Mountain Lions defeated two NCAA Division I teams in finishing third at the Lobo Invitational in Albuquerque on Saturday. They also defeated three other Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams which helped UCCS hold onto its No. 3 ranking in the North Central Regional poll.

UCCS was also ranked No. 8 in the preseason poll that was released on Sept. 5.

RMAC powerhouses Adams State and Western State hold the top two spots in the regional poll and are sitting in the No. 1 and No. 4 spots respectively in the national poll.
