Rubalcaba-Lopez named RMAC runner of the week

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs runner Aaron Rubalcaba-Lopez was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference runner of the week, the conference announced Wednesday.
The senior from Pueblo, Colo., led the Mountain Lions to a second-place team finish at Saturdayâ€TMs Colorado College Invitational after winning the individual title with a time of 26 minutes, 29 seconds in the 8-kilometer race.
It was Rubalcaba-Lopezâ€TMs first career runner of the week award and the first earned by a member of the Mountain Lionsâ€TM menâ€TMs team since Levi Brathall did it on Sept. 9, 2004.
With Shannon Payne also being named the women's runner of the week on Wednesday, it marked the first time UCCS runners had swept the award.
