Mountain Lions Place Fourth in Lobo Invitational
Aaron Rubalcaba-Lopez finished ninth among a field of 110 runners at the Lobo Invitational in Aluquerque on Saturday. The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Mountain Lions finished fourth out of 13 teams including Division I LSU.
Rubalcaba-Lopez covered the 8k course in 26 minutes, 3 seconds and finished ahead of 29 Division I runners.
Shea Wilfong was the Mountain Lions' second highest finisher placing 26th with a time of 27:26.
Dan Pinter, Aric Holmes, Alex Tiernan, David Harmer and Gabe Small finished 28th, 32nd, 38th, 43rd and 44th respectively.
The Mountain Lions finished fourth as a team behind Division I Utep, Texas A&M and New Mexico. The Mountain Lions posted an average team time of 27:16.60 and beat Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rivals New Mexico Highlands, Fort Lewis and Regis.
