Payne Takes 10th at Nationals

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs runner Shannon Payne finished 10th at the NCAA Division II National Cross Country Championships.

Payne covered the 6-kilometer course at Prado Park in Chino, Calif., in 21 minutes, 37.1 seconds. Teammate Sarah Shepard finished 31st in the 186-runner field with a time of 22:27.2. The duo earned their trip to nationals by virtue of their respective finishes at the regional meet. UCCS did not qualify as a team.
