UCCS men take fourth at RMAC Championships

All five University of Colorado at Colorado Springs scoring runners finished within 1 minute, 20 seconds of each other as the Mountain Lions took fourth place at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Championship Saturday at Chatfield State Park in Denver.

Brad Winn covered the 8-kilometer course in 28:37 to lead UCCS and take 13th overall. He was followed closely by teammates Aaron Rubalcaba-Lopez (29:22, 21st), Jay Luna (29:51, 25th), Gabe Small (29:54, 28th) and Jason Braun (29:57, 31st).

Not far off the pace but not factoring in the scoring were Kyle Reno (30:07) Kevin Moulton (30:33), Tim Hilt (30:45) and Brian Kearns (31:19).

All five Adams State runners finished in the top 10 as the Grizzlies validated their No. 1 national ranking by winning their 28th RMAC Championship. No. 4-ranked Western State took second and No. 10-ranked Colorado School of Mines finished third.

UCCS came into the meet ranked 22nd.

Adams State's Mario Macias was the top individual with a time of 26:31.
