Men's cross country takes eighth in Nebraska
The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs menâ€TMs cross country team topped four NCAA Division I teams and 21 schools overall in taking eighth place at the Woody Greeno Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday.
The Mountain Lions topped Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas State and Bradley. They also came in ahead of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rivals Nebraska-Kearney and Metro State.
Air Force finished first place, while the Colorado School of Mines took second and Drake was third.
UCCS finished just one point behind seventh-place Concordia (Neb.) and 28 behind sixth-place Central Missouri State.
Aaron Rubalcaba-Lopez and Brad Winn led the Mountain Lions, finishing 20th and 23rd respectively. Jay Luna was only 20 seconds behind Winn, but was in a large pack of runners and ended up in 35th. Jason Braun (85th) and Gabe Small (94th) also factored into the scoring for UCCS.
Freshmen Kevin Moulton (140th) and Brian Kearns (147th) also ran for the Mountain Lions.
