Women Take Fifth Place at Nebraska Meet

Sarah Shepard took sixth in the College Division to lead the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs women's cross country team to a fifth-place finish Saturday at the Woody Greeno Invitational at Lincoln, Neb.
Other Mountain Lions runners to count toward the team score were Shannon Payne (11th), Tina Gray (19th), Chelsey Cerrillo (62nd) and Kari Samuelson (70th).
Shepard completed the six-kilometer course in 22 minutes, 54 seconds, 1:16 behind Wartburg's Missy Buttry who won the race.
The meet, hosted by Nebraska Weslyan, featured six NCAA Division I schools competing in the University Division and 28 Division II, III and NAIA schools competing in the College Division.
