Laster Presents at WBCA National Convention
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs Head Women's Basketball Coach Corey Laster was one of three presenters during a session of the Division II Roundtables at the Women's Basketball Coaches Association National Convention earlier this month in New Orleans.
Laster presented on drills and suggestions to build a program, and was part of a lineup that included Sue Ramsey of 2012 national champion Ashland and Roy Heintz of national tournament participant Alabama-Huntsville. Laster pulled from his experience in student life and from coaching at multiple levels of collegiate basketball to present the best strategies for building a successful program.
Laster finished his first season at UCCS in March. He ranks first in record books in winning percentage and third with 46 coaching victories. The Mountain Lions hosted a first round game of the RMAC Shootout and advanced to back-to-back conference tournaments for the first time in more than a decade this season. The 19-8 record matched the most victories in season history and was the best win-loss percentage in the 24-year history of the program.
