White Named RMAC Freshman of the Year
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs true freshman Derrick White was named the 2013 RMAC Freshman of the Year in the postseason awards announced this afternoon. He also earned a spot on the RMAC Third Team.
White led conference freshman and was fourth overall with 16.9 points per game. He set the program record with 164 made free throws this season and was second in the RMAC in free throws made per game. White finished the season with 20 points in eight games and scored 15 points in the final eight games.
White was also ninth in the conference with 26 blocked shots and was second on the team with 36 steals. He started all 26 games and averaged a team-high 29.5 minutes per game.
The Mountain Lions finished the season leading the RMAC in offensive and total rebounds per conference game and fourth in rebounding margin and blocked shots per game.
