Vote for the UCCS Athlete of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs fans can provide their voice for the Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group UCCS Athlete of the Week. Voting will take place each week when the Mountain Lions are in action, and will take place throughout the UCCS Athletics social media platforms.

Voting for this week will end at 10 a.m., on Jan. 15, with the announcement to follow at 3 p.m. Fans can vote online through GoMountainLions.com, on Facebook at facebook.com/GoMountainLions, on Twitter at @GoMountainLions, and on Instagram at @GoMountainLions. Fans can vote on each platform through Wednesday morning.

Fans will select the first Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group Athlete of the Week between Abby Kirchoff of the women's basketball team and Derrick White of the men's basketball team:

  • Abby Kirchoff went four-of-five from the three-point line against Western State to move into second in Division II statistics in three-point percentage. She has scored in double figures in the last 18 games and increased her career scoring total to 1,059 points and needs 27 points to move into the top five in UCCS career records.
  • Derrick White averaged 24 points against Western State and Colorado Mesa last weekend on the road. He shot 54 percent from the field last week and has scored 20 points in the last three games. He made a season-high three steals against the Mountaineers on Thursday night.
