Vote for the UCCS Athlete of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs fans can provide their voice for the Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group UCCS Athlete of the Week. Voting will take place each week when the Mountain Lions are in action, and will take place throughout the UCCS Athletics social media platforms.
Voting for this week will end at 10 a.m., on Jan. 8, with the announcement to follow at 3 p.m. Fans can vote online through GoMountainLions.com, on Facebook at facebook.com/GoMountainLions, on Twitter at @GoMountainLions, and on Instagram at @GoMountainLions. Fans can vote on each platform through Wednesday morning.
Fans will select the first Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group Athlete of the Week between Abby Kirchoff of the women's basketball team and Derrick White of the men's basketball team:
- Abby Kirchoff moved into seventh in UCCS career scoring records with a 22-point performance at Colorado State-Pueblo last Saturday night. She led the Mountain Lions in scoring for the 11th time this season and led the team with five assists. Abby was ranked third in NCAA Division II with 24.6 points per game going into Saturday's game with the ThunderWolves.
- Derrick White scored a game-high 27 points in an 101-93 victory for the Mountain Lions against Colorado State-Pueblo on Saturday night. He broke the UCCS single-game record with six blocked shots. Derrick also led the team with seven assists as part of the team's fourth straight win.
