UCCS Goes for Fourth Straight Regis Win Tonight
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team (2-5 / 1-2 RMAC) will look for its third Saturday win of the season this afternoon when the Mountain Lions face Regis (3-3 / 1-1 RMAC) at 3 p.m., in the Regis Fieldhouse.
Both teams are coming off of loses last night, with UCCS to Metro State and Regis to Colorado State-Pueblo. Regis earned its first conference win last Saturday in a 61-54 win against Metro State at home.
Abby Kirchoff continued her scoring dominance with 19 points last night against the Roadrunners, and hasn't scored any less than 18 points in a game this season. She has 919 career points in her third season at UCCS, and if she scores her season average tonight, will move into ninth in program records.
The Mountain Lions will be going for their fourth straight win against Regis since the 2011-12 season. UCCS has won the previous three games by an average of 10 points. The two Saturday wins this season against California Baptist and Adams State have been decided by an average of 15 points.
Tae'lor Purdy of Regis is a spot behind Kirchoff in the conference scoring lists, and is the defending RMAC Offensive Player of the Week after a 25-point, 19-rebound performance against Metro State. Purdy scored 26 points and brought down 16 rebounds last night against the ThunderWolves.
Fans can follow tonight's game through live stats from Regis, and the game will be available on pay-per-view through America One Sports. M.J. Arjomandi will call the play-by-play on USTREAM for the Mountain Lions.
