UCCS Receiving Votes in First Regular Season National Poll

ATLANTA - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team received eight votes in the first regular season WBCA / USA Today Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll released this afternoon. The Mountain Lions started the season 1-1 with a win against California Baptist, who is also receiving votes in the national poll.

UCCS is the preseason favorite among the RMAC coaches with preseason player of the year Abby Kirchoff. She was named to the All-UCCS Classic team over the weekend after she averaged 21.5 points per game and recorded a double-double against Bemidji State in the season-opener.

The Mountain Lions will be in action this weekend in the final nonconference classic at Metro State. UCCS will take on former RMAC member Nebraska-Kearney on Friday and Minnesota State on Saturday in a pair of 5 p.m., games at the Auraria Events Center.
