Mountain Lions Take On RMAC Favorite Tonight in Denver
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team (4-2 / 1-1 RMAC) will take one of its best starts in program history to the highest-ranked team in the conference on Friday night at No. 6 Metro State. The game tips off at 7 p.m., at the Auraria Events Center in downtown Denver.
The Mountain Lions are coming off of a 97-93 win against Adams State last Saturday, and held off the Grizzlies late in the game after a large lead early in the second half. UCCS can match its overall win total from last year with a win against Metro State on Friday night, which would also represent the first win against the Roadrunners in program history.
UCCS has the top shooters in the RMAC from the field and the three-point line. Dalton Patten is shooting 65 percent (31-of-48) from the field and is second on the team with 13.3 points per game, while Darius Pardner is shooting 67 percent (eight-of-12) from the three-point line. Five Mountain Lions are averaging more than 10 points per game, and UCCS is averaging more than 12 points a game compared to Metro State.
The Roadrunners , the defending national runner-up, are 4-1 against Division II opponents this season with the only loss to a nationally-ranked top 10 team. Metro State also went 3-1 in the NIT Preseason Tip-Off against Division I teams in the exhibition season.
Fans can follow the action from tonight's game with live stats, live video through America One Sports, and live audio from the UCCS USTREAM channel. M.J. Arjomandi will provide the play-by-play call for the Mountain Lions. Fans can also watch the game tonight at Clyde's, located on the lower level of the University Center. Parking will be free for the video stream.
