Stephanie (Frisch) Leasure Hall of Fame Profile
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The first, and so far only, women's basketball student-athlete to record a triple-double will be one of four members in the second class of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Athletic Hall of Fame. Stephanie (Frisch) Leasure will formally be inducted into the hall during ceremonies April 4 in Berger Hall on campus.
Leasure scored 26 points, brought down 11 rebounds and provided 11 assists against Colorado State-Pueblo on Jan. 29, 1997. The 11 assists in her sophomore season is still the most in a single game in UCCS history. She went on to become the first Mountain Lion to be named to an RMAC First Team that season.
When Leasure's career ended in the 1998-99 season, she held the record for career points (1,224), three-pointers (176), free throws (296), assists (354), was second in double-doubles (6), third in field goals made (376), sixth in rebounds (427) and eighth in steals (98).
Leasure ended up on the All-RMAC First Team on all three seasons she competed for UCCS. In her freshman season at New Mexico State, she was a member of the All-Big West Conference freshman team and set an Aggie season record for three pointers.
Leasure will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the same room that served as the UCCS basketball arena during her playing days. The room was renamed as Berger Hall after the Gallogly Events Center opened in the 2009-10 season. The facility was renovated during the winter break of 2012-13, and the original playing floor brought back into view after being hidden by carpet.
Leasure will join Dr. Glenn Williams, golfer Marc Hocking and outside hitter Audrey Nelson as members of the 2013 induction class.
