UCCS Continues Historic Run With Second Straight 21 Point Win
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team (15-4 / 12-3 RMAC) improves on their best record in program history through 19 games as they beat New Mexico Highlands (4-15 / 4-11) tonight 74-53 at the Gallogly Events Center for their second straight 21 point win.
The Mountain Lions finished the game shooting the ball over 48 percent from the field and turning the ball over a season-best, 12 times.
Leading the way for UCCS a second straight game was Lauren, who finished with a team-high of 16 points. Wolfinger shot seven-of-12 from the field and converted two-of-four from 3-point range. In the process, Wolfinger recorded her 117th career 3-point shot made, which moves her into a tie for seventh place all-time in program history.
Kellie Krueger and Jessika Kienitz also had a good offensive performance tonight in the Mountain Lion's 21 point victory. Krueger finished the game with 12 points and shot five-of-eight from the field. Kienitz recorded 11 points, three assists and added a team-high six rebounds.
Up Next: The UCCS Mountain Lions will travel to Pueblo next Saturday night to take on the Thunderwolves (15-4 / 12-3 RMAC). Both teams are currently in three way tie, along with Metro State, for second place in the RMAC.
