Mountain Lions Go for Back-to-Back Wins Tonight in Blackout
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team (3-14 / 3-10 RMAC) will go for the sweep of Western New Mexico (6-11 / 6-7 RMAC) and win back-to-back games tonight when the Mountain Lions host the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. in the Gallogly Events Center. Tonight's annual "Blackout" game will feature free black t-shirts for the first 1,000 students that attend the pregame tailgate in the newly renovated Berger Hall.
UCCS won against the Mustangs earlier this season, 84-80, down in Silver City, N.M., and is coming off a win last Saturday night, 92-73, at Chadron State. The Mountain Lions are within a qualifying spot for the RMAC Shootout in early March, at three games behind the eighth-place team with nine games left in the regular season.
The Mountain Lions shot a season-high 55.4 percent from the field and out-rebounded Western New Mexico by a season-best margin of 20 rebounds in the first meeting on Dec. 15. Derrick White scored 22 points and was one of four Mountain Lions to finish with five or more rebounds.
Fans can follow tonight's game through live stats, through live video streaming from America One Networks, and through live audio from UCCS Radio.
