COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (2-11 / 2-7 RMAC) ran into a hot shooting Colorado Mesa University (11-3 / 8-2 RMAC) team Saturday night at the Gallogly Events Center as the Mountain Lions lost 60-84.

In a true complete start to finish victory for CMU, UCCS never managed to grab the lead in this one.

The Mavericks shot an impressive 62.1 percent from the field for the game and a blazing 53.3 percent from behind the arc as well.

If it's any consolation, the Mountain Lion faithful managed to terrify the Mavericks at the free throw as CMU went 4-of-12 from the charity stripe for only 33.3 percent.

Individual performances highlighted the evening as four Mountain Lions were in double figures on the scoreboard in addition to UCCS' overall advantage in rebounds with a 37 to 28 margin on the boards.

Derrick White (17), Darius Pardner (13), Alex Koehler (10) and Alex Welsh (10) led the way on the scoreboard for UCCS while Jordan Carter and Koehler led the way on the glass with nine and seven rebounds respectively.

The night from White brought his season scoring average up to 16.9 points per game, an outstanding mark for a freshman.

On the defensive end of the court White and Koehler each collected three steals for UCCS.

Jeff Hart (22) and Colton Burgon (18) were the leading scorers for the Mavericks.
