SILVER CITY, N.M. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team defeats Western New Mexico 80-73 in overtime, as Sam Patterson records the fist double-double for the team this season.  The Mountain Lions improve to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the RMAC, for the first time in over a decade.

The Mountain Lions started off the game red hot as they jumped out to a 16-1 lead in the first six minutes of the game.  UCCS led by as many as 17 points, en route to a 34-21 advantage at the half. The team shot more than 56 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range.

The UCCS offense was led by Lauren Wolfinger, who had nine points in the first half. She finished the game with 18 points and made two 3-point shots. Wolfinger's production tonight moves her into eighth all-time for career 3-pointers made in school history.

Sam Patterson also had a good first half as she recorded eight points with six rebounds, and shot three-of-three from the field.  Patterson was even more efficient moving forward as she finished the game with the 16 points with a game-high and season-best 15 rebounds and shot four-of-six from the field and a perfect eight-of-eight from the free throw line.

The Mountain Lions also got great contributions from Abby Kirchoff and Jeri Pikul who combined for 34 points. Kirchoff recorded 19 points with six rebounds, while Pikul added 14 points and shot two-of-four from 3-point range.
