White and Carter Excel Against Regis

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (0-8 / 0-4 RMAC) mounted a comeback that came up just short as the Mountain Lions fell to Regis (2-4 / 1-2 RMAC) 67-77 at the Gallogly Events Center Saturday night.

Derrick White and Jordan Carter had great nights for UCCS with 17 points apiece.

Carter managed the high point total while shooting eight-of-nine from the field. White also chipped in three assists and four steals.

UCCS got off to a slow start against the Rangers who shot a scorching five-of-10 from three-point land in the first-half. Regis' Corbin Green had 20 points at intermission and was whom the Mountain Lions needed to stop in the second half.

UCCS held Green to only three points in the second half and made things interesting for the Rangers down the stretch.

Unfortunately the ball did not bounce the Mountain Lions way enough in the waning minutes with UCCS unable sustain its 55-54 lead at the 6:02 mark for the remainder of the game.

Alex Koehler contributed eight points of his own to go with a team-high six rebounds. The UCCS bench added 16 points highlighted by Alex Welsh's eight points.
