UCCS Fights with #3 Roadrunners in First Half at Home

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs shot 58 percent from the field in the first half and played within six points of No. 3 Metro State, but the Roadrunners (6-0 / 2-0 RMAC) pulled away in the second half in a 79-54 decision tonight against the Mountain Lions (0-7 / 0-3 RMAC) in the Gallogly Events Center.

The Mountain Lions trailed 33-27 at the break and employed a balanced attack with seven different student-athletes scoring in the first half. Kyle Clark had the most at the break with six points.

UCCS dropped back down to its season average in the second half and went eight-for-23 from the field. Jordan Carter was the high man in the game with 12 points to go along with a pair of rebounds. Alex Koehler and Derrick White tied for the team-high in rebounds with six apiece.

Up Next: The Mountain Lions will wrap up a four-game conference homestand with Regis on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. The Rangers (1-4 / 0-2 RMAC) fell to Colorado State-Pueblo 82-58.
